Textile Sample

This is a textile that I am considering within my collection. Its just stitching wool through a coating fabric. Its inspired by an earlier post, the static series by Tauba Auerbach. It also reminds me of the landscape, falling rain, textured rock. Here are some photos.

These works are inspired by the images of the landscape from a moving car and the way the colours morph into each other.

"Ritator made use of an old printing technique called "Iris print" to replicate the side view from a moving car or train. Posters 70 x 100 cm. 250 unique prints."

Machine knitting

I have just recently borrowed a knitting machine from a very great friend (thankyou!) and am now testing out what kinds of things I can do. I want to use machine knitting for my collection. The techniques I want to master are, textured and Fair Isle knitting. Here are some photos of my progress!






As you can see it takes a lot of practice! But I'm going to keep working at it!
